Received AA in Music from Santa Barbara City College. Then, after some delay with the draft and Vietnam/Navy, I received my K-12 teaching credential from CSUN, then graduated from UCSB with BA degree in Choral Conducting. Later I received my MA in Technology at Cit University in Seattle. I began my teaching career in music in Olympia, WA in 1979 teaching K-8 music, band, choir and strings. Founded Masterworks Choral Ensemble (MCE) in 1981. Still the Artistic Director/Conductor of MCE (www.mce.org) celebrating our 40th anniversary. Changed last name to Witley in 1998 when married (Witman+Riley=Witley). I have 3 great kids (ages 43, 21 and 18) and 2 grandkids. Divorced in 2020 and remarried as of Dec. 23, 2021! Life is good!
